About the job HSE Officer
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in line with local regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective measures.
- Facilitate HSE training programs and awareness campaigns to enhance the safety competence of all employees.
- Manage and investigate incidents and accidents, analyzing the causes and assisting in the development of preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of HSE performance metrics and prepare reports for management review.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a robust safety culture and continuous improvement.
- Participate in emergency response drills and develop emergency preparedness plans.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the HSE function.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in the oil and gas or construction sectors.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience in performing safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to design and deliver effective HSE training programs.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures and incident investigation protocols.
