Job Description : Description of activities and key responsibilities of the function
Overseeing and coordinating all steel fixing activities of the concerned section.
Planning, scheduling, and supervising the work of steel fixers.
Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with operation specifications and safety standards.
Training and mentoring junior staff.
Maintaining equipment and ensuring it is in good working order.
Liaising with other construction professionals to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
Conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Resolving any issues or problems that arise during the course of the operation.
Ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget.
Make sure tools and materials are available and ready for related works.
Schedule and supervise the workers in the concerned area of operation.
Make sure all personnel are following the schedule and following quality system, Occupational health and safety, procedures for industrial safety standard.
Maintain the drawings, production plan and follow the work schedule as instructed by line manager.
Inform line manager and coordinate with maintenance department to conduct periodic maintenance.
Coordinate for daily attendance and requesting overtime for his concerned area of operation.
Maintain equipment and machinery under his supervision
Supervise the cleanness for the concerned section of operation.
Perform other jobs as assigned by line manager.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
Cooperate with anything the employer does to comply with OHS requirements.
Comply with HSE requirements communicated in HSE induction, Procedures, and policies.
Lead as an example in front of workers by not violating any rules and correcting unsafe actions and conditions.
Attend Group Safety Meetings, HSE Campaigns & committee meetings as and when required.
Report unsafe acts and conditions to the HSE dept. using Intelex or booklets provided to you and monitor your targets and KPIs.
Do not carry out any task if you are not trained or authorized to do so, and make sure the workers working under you are following the same.
Participate in weekly or monthly HSE walkthroughs with your area HSE staff as per the plans.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
Diploma in Industrial Engineering or Equivalent Qualification or Experience
Higher School Certificate
Relevant experience
Proven experience as a Steel fixer Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and safety standards.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
Good problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging conditions.
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different construction sites.
Certification in a relevant trade or field is preferred.
