Responsibilities
BIM Management:
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of BIM workflows and standards across all projects.
- Manage the creation and coordination of BIM models for all precast elements, ensuring alignment with architectural, structural, and MEP designs.
- Conduct model coordination reviews, clash detection, and resolution using tools like Navisworks, Revit, and BIM 360.
- Ensure BIM deliverables (LOD, data structures, naming conventions) meet client, production, and site requirements.
- Lead BIM execution planning and enforce compliance with company and industry standards.
- Train and mentor BIM team members, including modelers and coordinators.
Technical Leadership:
- Supervise and guide the technical engineering/design team in producing accurate and efficient precast designs.
- Review and approve detailed drawings and shop drawings for precast elements before submission to production.
- Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, local codes, and international standards.
- Coordinate between the design, production, and erection teams to resolve technical issues and optimize constructability.
- Provide expert-level guidance on precast connections, structural detailing, lifting, handling, and installation constraints.
Coordination & Communication:
- Act as the key technical interface between clients, consultants, and internal departments.
- Attend design review meetings, coordination sessions, and client presentations as the technical lead.
- Respond to RFIs and technical queries related to precast designs, BIM models, and site coordination.
Quality & Compliance:
- Implement quality assurance/quality control procedures for both BIM models and engineering deliverables.
- Ensure digital models and drawings are accurate, clash-free, and integrated with production systems.
- Monitor and manage revisions, change requests, and document control protocols.
Innovation & Development:
- Lead the adoption of new BIM tools and technologies to improve design productivity and accuracy
- Identify process improvement opportunities within the design and modeling teams.
- Stay up-to-date with BIM industry trends, tools, and digital construction practices.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions
- Cooperate with anything the employer does to comply with OHS requirements.
- Comply with HSE requirements communicated in HSE induction, Procedures, and policies.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Industry related experience
- Strong knowledge of precast concrete manufacturing processes and construction workflows.
- 10+ years of experience in precast concrete design, engineering, and BIM management.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and other BIM-related software.
- Strong technical knowledge of precast systems, reinforcement detailing, production constraints, and construction methods.
- Proven experience managing technical teams and delivering large-scale precast or construction projects.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary coordination using BIM platforms. Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
