Foreman - Maintenance

Job Description: Description of activities and key responsibilities of the function

• Plan and schedule maintenance work

• Supervise maintenance staff

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations

• Inspect and assess the condition of machinery and equipment

• Determine the need for repairs or replacements

• Maintain records of maintenance work

• Manage maintenance budgets

• Liaise with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities

• Train new maintenance staff

• Undertake scheduled maintenance.

• Respond to breakdowns in time.

• Guide maintenance technicians and ensure implementation of PMP.

• Ensure quality of workmanship and work is completed on time .

• Coordinate and support maintenance supervisor in factory and sites as well.

• Physical verification of spare parts, tools  in the stores strategy and support maintenance supervisor /and engineer.

• Ensure all maintenance activities adhere strictly to HSE rules, policies and procedures. 

• Coordinate with other departments whenever needed and prepare HSE related documents on daily basis.

• Participate tool box talks /training with maintenance employees in order to reduce /avoid accidents on work stations. 

• Support maintenance supervisor/engineer to develop new strategies for maintenance process improvement in terms of response time, costs, safety and environment enhancement.

• Ensure that all the maintenance records in the facility are in accordance with ISO Standards.

• Ensure that all Plant & Equipment is maintained periodically according to manufacturer specifications and preventive maintenance plan.

• Take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

• Cooperate with anything the employer does to comply with OHS requirements.

• Comply with HSE requirements communicated in HSE induction, Procedures, and policies.

• Lead as an example in front of workers by not violating any rules and correcting unsafe actions and conditions.

• Attend Group Safety Meetings, HSE Campaigns & committee meetings as and when required.

• Report unsafe acts and conditions to the HSE dept. using Intelex or booklets provided to you and monitor your targets and KPIs.

• Do not carry out any task if you are not trained or authorized to do so, and make sure the workers working under you are following the same.

• Participate in weekly or monthly HSE walkthroughs with your area HSE staff as per the plans.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

• Minimum ITI/Diploma  in Electrical trade or Minimum 6 years hands on experience on Modern automatic Precast manufacturing facility in the similar role.

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Foreman

• Knowledge of maintenance procedures and equipment

• Strong leadership and management skills

• Ability to plan and schedule maintenance work

• Good problem-solving skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Good communication skills

• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures

• Ability to manage budgets

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor
