Since starting in Perth in 2012, CMW Geosciences has expanded to 19 business units with over 300 employees across Australia and New Zealand. We are hard-working, down-to-earth, and passionate Geotech professionals, providing quality geotechnical site investigation, analysis, and design advice to the construction, infrastructure, mining and energy sectors.

Our Perth-based Tailings team is looking to bring on a Geotechnical Tailings Engineer to lead our tailings team of 5. You will have support from our wider geotechnical team and you'll work closely with the Perth Manager and have input in recruitment, training and development, resourcing, strategic pursuits and overall leadership and direction.

You must have leadership experience and be passionate and focused within the area of TSF design.  As well as leading the team, you will also contribute technically delivering successful projects for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the technical team to develop, provide and promote design solutions, options and initiatives to meet client needs
  • Work with the senior technical team to contribute to detailed designs for projects ranging from building foundations to temporary works, infrastructure and tailings storage facilities.
  • Undertake technical and non-technical tasks and take responsibility for the accuracy and quality of our work
  • Ensure that the projects are completed on time, within budget and to the desired quality standards
  • Maintaining good relationships with existing clients and working with the client relations/business development team to target new opportunities

Qualifications/Experience/Attributes

  • Qualified Geotechnical/Civil Engineer with 8+ years of experience working in a geotechnical consulting environment.
  • Experience leading a team and developing junior engineers
  • An established career within TSF design
  • Full Aus work rights (PR and citizenship are preferred)
  • Team player
  • Good analytical skills with developed knowledge of geotechnical design (Plaxis, Rocscience Slide, RSPile, Settle3, LimitState Geo etc.)
  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail is a must
