Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking hardworking and disciplined Kitchen Stewards for a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards within kitchen and food preparation areas while supporting smooth back-of-house kitchen operations. The ideal candidates should possess strong teamwork abilities, good work ethics, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, dishwashing sections, food preparation areas, and back-of-house operations.
  • Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, cookware, dishes, cutlery, glassware, and kitchen equipment according to hygiene standards.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal procedures are followed and maintain cleanliness of garbage collection and disposal areas.
  • Clean kitchen floors, walls, refrigerators, storage rooms, drains, and workstations regularly to maintain hygiene compliance.
  • Support receiving, unloading, organizing, and proper storage of food supplies, kitchen equipment, and operational materials.
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals and sanitation materials are handled safely and stored according to safety regulations.
  • Monitor cleanliness and operational readiness of dishwashing machines and stewarding equipment.
  • Assist kitchen staff during busy service periods by ensuring continuous availability of clean utensils and operational support.
  • Follow hotel food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Report damaged equipment, breakages, and maintenance issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain discipline, teamwork, and efficiency within stewarding operations during all shifts.
  • Support deep cleaning schedules and special kitchen sanitation projects when assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate in Hospitality or Food Production is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in kitchen stewarding, cleaning, or hospitality operations preferred.
  • Experience in hotel or hospitality environments is an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Professional attitude, discipline, and reliability.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
