Job Summary:
The QA/QC Manager will oversee and manage all quality assurance and quality control processes within renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications. This role is critical to maintaining high-quality construction, installation, and commissioning of renewable energy systems such as solar, wind, or hydro power projects.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Quality Assurance (QA):
- Develop, implement, and maintain the QA/QC plan aligned with project requirements and international standards (ISO 9001, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Ensure that all project activities comply with regulatory, contractual, and internal quality requirements.
- Conduct audits and inspections to evaluate quality management system effectiveness.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Review project designs, specifications, and procedures for quality compliance.
Quality Control (QC):
- Supervise and monitor the QC team in conducting inspections, tests, and measurements of renewable energy components and systems.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality control activities, including test reports, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Approve or reject materials, equipment, and workmanship based on compliance with project specifications.
- Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Integration:
- Ensure QA/QC processes align with HSE standards, particularly for high-risk renewable energy operations.
- Participate in incident investigations where quality factors may be involved.
Team Management & Reporting:
- Lead, mentor, and train QA/QC staff on industry best practices and project-specific requirements.
- Provide regular QA/QC performance reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Project Management to ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans on photovoltaic solar projects.
- Experience in the construction of PV plants with an aggregate peak capacity of more than 4 MW, with at least one (1) PV plant more than 4 MW.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems (solar PV, wind turbines, hydro) and associated quality standards.
- Proven experience in ISO 9001, IEC, and other relevant quality certifications.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in QA/QC software and Microsoft Office Suite.
