Job Summary

The Plumbing Technician (Grade 4–6) is responsible for carrying out installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems to support the organizations operational and maintenance requirements. The role requires hands-on technical competence, teamwork, accountability, and reliable execution of assigned duties in line with approved standards and agreed work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Diagnose plumbing faults and carry out corrective and preventive maintenance works.
  • Ensure plumbing works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Support routine and emergency maintenance activities across facilities and operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and other technical team members to complete tasks on time.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • Report faults, material requirements, and completed works accurately to supervisors.
  • Adhere to workplace safety procedures, policies, and operational guidelines.
  • Demonstrate accountability, reliability, and professionalism in all assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Trade Certificate or Vocational Training in Plumbing (Grade 4–6 or equivalent).
  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience as a Plumbing Technician.
  • Practical knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read basic drawings and follow technical instructions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • High level of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual work.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or respond to maintenance emergencies when required.
