Financial Controller

Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Financial Controller for a growing company in the Travel & Tourism industry. The role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, supporting business growth through strategic financial management, and maintaining strong internal controls. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership, analytical, and financial management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial and accounting operations in compliance with IFRS and Tanzanian regulations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risks.
• Ensure compliance with TRA tax requirements including VAT, PAYE, and statutory obligations.
• Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and policies.
• Supervise accounting staff and support branch financial operations.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.
• Monitor financial performance and identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of tax planning, compliance, and financial management.
• Good understanding of Tanzanian financial and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
