Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking a passionate and guest-focused Head Housekeeping Supervisor for a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for providing professional and customer-focused housekeeping service, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and all hotel spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and comfort. The ideal candidate should be a strong leader with excellent attention to detail, the ability to motivate a multicultural housekeeping team, and a genuine commitment to delivering a memorable guest experience in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign daily tasks to Housekeeping Supervisors and Room Attendants, maintaining a visible presence on the floors and ensuring all assigned areas are cleaned, inspected, and maintained to luxury hotel standards throughout all shifts.
  • Prepare Housekeeping Attendant job assignments, issue keys and supplies, and ensure all team members are fully briefed, equipped, and operationally ready ahead of each shift.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and stairwells using checklists to verify that cleaning standards are adequate, in-room supplies are correctly stocked, and any maintenance requirements are reported and followed up promptly.
  • Take note of VIP arrivals, Do Not Disturb rooms, Sleep Out rooms, and Double-Lock rooms, taking appropriate action and communicating relevant information to the housekeeping team and relevant departments.
  • Receive guest check-outs, verify room status, and report rooms as vacant only after thorough inspection confirms they meet the hotel's cleanliness and readiness standards.
  • Receive and action special guest requests promptly and professionally, coordinating with the housekeeping team to ensure all guest needs are met to the highest service standards.
  • Check the maintenance and condition of all housekeeping equipment used by team members, ensuring all machinery and tools are cleaned, stored correctly, and in safe working condition at all times.
  • Ensure the correct and economical use of cleaning agents and chemical supplies, overseeing their safe storage and handling in compliance with hotel health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Train, guide, and support Housekeeping Supervisors and Room Attendants in maintaining cleanliness standards, service procedures, and professional conduct throughout all operational areas.
  • Fill out lost and found reports accurately, handing over all articles found in guest areas to the designated lost and found department in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Assist with housekeeping inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels of linen, amenities, cleaning supplies, and guest room provisions are maintained across all floors and storage areas.
  • Coordinate effectively with the Front Office, Maintenance, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless room turnovers, timely resolution of maintenance issues, and consistent delivery of luxury guest experiences.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or vocational training in Hospitality, Housekeeping, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of housekeeping experience with demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience within a luxury hotel or resort is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Head Housekeeping Supervisor or senior housekeeping leadership role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, room inspection standards, cleaning procedures, and chemical handling practices is preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills along with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities are recommended.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a multicultural housekeeping team effectively in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment is recommended.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with hotel property management systems such as Opera is an added advantage.
  • Candidates from NCT and other hospitality institutes are encouraged to apply.
