Job Summary:
The Construction Manager (Maximum Site Authority) is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities for renewable energy projects, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective execution in line with project specifications, industry standards, and company policies. This role has the highest authority on site and ensures coordination among all contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Site Leadership & Management
- Serve as the highest authority on site, making operational decisions to ensure construction progresses efficiently.
- Lead and supervise all site personnel, including contractors, subcontractors, and technical teams.
- Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and standards on-site.
- Project Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed construction plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Monitor and control site activities to meet project timelines, quality, and budget targets.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure construction aligns with technical specifications.
- Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to renewable energy construction.
- Promote a culture of safety, conducting regular inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
- Maintain high-quality standards in all construction work, implementing quality control measures.
- Budget & Resource Management
- Oversee procurement and usage of materials, equipment, and manpower.
- Manage site budgets, monitor costs, and report variances to the Project Director.
- Optimize resource allocation to reduce wastage and improve efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact on-site for clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit regular site reports, progress updates, and issue logs to senior management.
- Resolve on-site disputes and provide solutions to technical or operational challenges.
- Technical Expertise
- Provide guidance on renewable energy construction methods, including solar, wind, hydro, or hybrid systems.
- Review technical drawings, design specifications, and engineering calculations for feasibility and compliance.
- Recommend and implement improvements in construction processes and methodologies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in construction of power plants with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the construction of PV plants of the same or similar technology as used in the Works for the Project with an aggregate peak capacity of more than or equal to the Project size, with at least one (1) PV plant more than or equal to 30% of the Project Size
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction sites and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office Suite.
