Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Pressman for a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for ensuring all guest and hotel laundry pressing services are completed on time and to the highest possible quality standards, maintaining impeccable garment presentation across all laundry operations. The ideal candidate should be hardworking, technically skilled in pressing techniques, and committed to delivering exceptional laundry service standards within a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pressing and finishing of all guest garments, hotel linen, uniforms, and fabric items in accordance with hotel laundry standards, ensuring the highest possible quality of presentation at all times.
• Separate garments appropriately prior to pressing, identifying fabric types, care labels, and specific pressing requirements to ensure each item receives the correct pressing treatment.
• Press all garments and linen according to specific fabric types and material requirements, applying correct temperature settings, steam levels, and pressing techniques to achieve flawless results.
• Follow all hotel laundry department policies, procedures, and operational standards consistently, maintaining compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality guidelines throughout all pressing activities.
• Operate, clean, and maintain all pressing machines and equipment with proper care, ensuring all machinery is in safe, clean, and fully functional working condition at all times.
• Continuously seek to improve pressing techniques and stay current with more advanced methods through active participation in departmental training sessions and team meetings.
• Handle all guest garments and hotel items with the utmost care, ensuring no damage, shrinkage, or quality compromise occurs during the pressing and finishing process.
• Coordinate effectively with laundry attendants and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow, timely turnaround of pressing tasks, and uninterrupted guest laundry service delivery.
• Report any damaged garments, equipment faults, or operational concerns to the Laundry Supervisor promptly to maintain a safe and efficient laundry working environment.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor or department management in support of overall laundry operations and guest service excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Vocational training or Certificate in Laundry Operations, Housekeeping, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Pressman in a high-volume hotel or hospitality laundry environment is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of pressing techniques, fabric care, garment handling, and laundry equipment operation is preferred.
• Ability to identify different fabric types and apply appropriate pressing methods and temperature settings is recommended.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality garment finishing standards is recommended.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, multitask, and maintain a positive and cooperative attitude within a multicultural team is recommended.
• Experience working in a luxury hotel laundry department is an added advantage.
• Candidates from NCT and other hospitality institutes are encouraged to apply.
• Multilingual candidates will have an added advantage.
• Proficiency in English communication is required.
