Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking professional and customer-focused Bartenders for a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining bar cleanliness, and ensuring smooth daily bar operations within a professional hospitality environment. The ideal candidates should possess strong communication skills, beverage knowledge, and excellent customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to hotel recipes, beverage standards, and guest preferences.
  • Provide professional, friendly, and engaging customer service to guests within bar and lounge areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards of bar counters, storage areas, glassware, and bar equipment.
  • Monitor beverage inventory levels, stock usage, and bar supplies while reporting replenishment requirements promptly.
  • Prepare cocktail garnishes, mixers, and bar mise en place before operational shifts begin.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of beverages, wines, spirits, and bar ingredients.
  • Process guest orders accurately through POS systems while maintaining efficient service during busy periods.
  • Recommend beverages, cocktails, wines, and premium selections confidently to enhance guest experiences and sales.
  • Handle guest concerns, complaints, and intoxication situations professionally in line with hotel policies and responsible beverage service standards.
  • Coordinate closely with restaurant staff, supervisors, and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, health, and safety procedures within bar operations.
  • Support bar opening, closing, inventory counting, and operational reporting procedures when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service, or related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a bartender in hotels, restaurants, lounges, or hospitality environments preferred.
  • Experience in luxury hotel operations is an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of beverages, cocktails, and bar service operations.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in English communication is required.
  • Candidates from the National College of Tourism (NCT) and other hospitality colleges or institutes are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates who are proficient in more than one language (multilingual) will have an added advantage.
