Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking three (3) qualified and detail-oriented Accountants (CPA-T) for a client in Morogoro. The roles are responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with statutory and tax requirements, and supporting effective financial management within the organization.

The ideal candidates should possess strong analytical skills, integrity, and solid knowledge of Tanzanian accounting and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions in accordance with company procedures and accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and financial summaries for decision-making purposes.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, cashbooks, supplier accounts, customer accounts, and general ledger balances regularly.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Monitor company cash flow and support budget preparation, tracking, and expenditure control activities.
  • Process payroll accurately and ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions and employee-related obligations.
  • Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and ensure proper financial documentation and filing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Tanzanian tax regulations including VAT, PAYE, SDL, WHT, and other statutory obligations.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies during audits and compliance reviews.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of internal control systems and financial procedures.
  • Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and operational weaknesses while recommending corrective measures.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare budget variance analysis and management reports.
  • Support procurement, asset management, and other finance-related administrative functions when required.
  • Perform additional finance and accounting duties assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • Must possess CPA (T) certification recognized by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, financial regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, Sage, or ERP systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple tasks effectively.
