Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking skilled and detail-oriented Tailors for a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for tailoring, repairing, altering, and maintaining uniforms, linen, and guest garments while ensuring high presentation and quality standards within the hospitality environment. The ideal candidates should possess strong sewing skills, attention to detail, and experience working in professional tailoring or hospitality operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform stitching, alterations, and repairs of hotel uniforms, staff garments, linen, and guest clothing according to hotel quality standards.
  • Handle guest tailoring requests professionally, including adjustments, fitting corrections, hemming, and urgent garment repairs when required.
  • Ensure all uniforms and garments are properly measured, fitted, pressed, and maintained to support professional staff presentation standards.
  • Operate sewing machines, ironing equipment, and tailoring tools safely, efficiently, and according to operational procedures.
  • Inspect garments, fabrics, and linen carefully to identify damages, defects, or repair requirements before and after tailoring work.
  • Maintain proper organization of tailoring materials, threads, fabrics, needles, and other tailoring supplies within the work area.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, laundry, and hospitality departments to ensure timely delivery and collection of uniforms and linen items.
  • Ensure all tailoring assignments and guest requests are completed accurately and within the required timelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and professional organization within the tailoring room and working environment at all times.
  • Follow hotel operational procedures, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements while handling guest and staff garments.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate or training in Tailoring, Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in tailoring, garment alteration, or hospitality uniform maintenance preferred.
  • Experience in hotel or hospitality environments is an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of sewing, garment fitting, and fabric handling.
  • Ability to operate sewing machines and tailoring equipment efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Professional attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts when required.
  • Proficiency in English communication is an added advantage.
