About the job Manager of Operational Risk & Resilience
A leading global financial services provider is seeking a Manager, Operational Risk & Resilience (ORRO) to join its Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team. This role is responsible for driving the operational risk framework and business resilience strategies for North American operations. As an individual contributor, you will oversee Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), Business Continuity Management (BCM), and root cause analysis to ensure organizational stability. Reporting to onshore leadership, this role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate with global stakeholders to mitigate risks and enhance the firm's resilience posture.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework, ensuring alignment with global standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process to identify, assess, and mitigate operational vulnerabilities.
- Design and perform control testing to evaluate the effectiveness of the current risk environment.
- Develop and maintain Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans and conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for critical units.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for operational risk events and provide actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Support Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) and Disaster Recovery (DR) initiatives to ensure end-to-end resilience.
- Collaborate with local MBPS teams and onshore partners on project-based risk assessments and process improvements.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality risk reporting and insights to key stakeholders in the US and Canada.
- Monitor the implementation of remediation plans for identified control gaps and audit findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 solid years of experience in an Operational Risk Management (ORM) or BCM capacity.
- Must have experience in Financial Services (Banking/Insurance/GWAM).
- Strong background in RCSA, Control Testing, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Prior exposure to TPRM, Disaster Recovery (DR), or Incident Management is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder management.
Work Setup: Hybrid
Schedule: Night Shift (first 6–12 months) with potential transition to Mid-shift (Mon-Fri)
