A leading global manufacturing firm is seeking a strategic Tax Officer to lead tax compliance and advisory functions. This role is responsible for managing the compliance calendar, handling BIR audits, and identifying tax risks to ensure the Group's financial integrity. You will serve as a key advisor on transaction tax implications and oversee tax provisioning, reporting, and complex reconciliation issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures accurate tax calculations and timely submission of documents as required by government authorities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as well as during audits.
  • Actively participates in updating the Tax Manual by identifying operational gaps and reporting them, ensuring that business needs and recommended actions are effectively addressed.
  • Contributes to the update of the Tax Manual, ensuring it reflects the relevant laws, practices, and procedures for each tax type the Group is responsible for.
  • Assists the Tax Manager in organizing annual tax training sessions and developing a comprehensive tax database for Group employees.
  • Prepares and drafts tax guides for Group employees, offering solutions for tax-related issues within their respective business areas.
  • Supports the Tax Manager in reviewing the structure of related party transactions and transfer pricing arrangements within the Group to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Helps identify opportunities to legally minimize the Group's tax liabilities and reduce the effective annual tax rate, considering the feasibility and practicality of implementation.
  • Stays updated on local and national tax laws, regulations, and the Group's policies and procedures to ensure the application of sound and value-driven tax practices.
  • Upholds the highest ethical standards in all internal and external interactions and relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent; Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Must have the ability to lead a compliance calendar and handle BIR audits/disputes with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in handling Tax Provisioning, Reporting, and identifying tax risks or compliance gaps.
  • Proven experience in People Management and handling complex issues (advisory, due diligence, and tax audits).
  • Preferably with three-year experience in preparing tax reconciliation and returns.
  • Preferably with three-year experience in supporting tax compliance reviews and two-year experience in tax planning.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.

Work Setup: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)

Schedule: Day Shift, Monday to Friday

Location: McKinley Hill, Taguig City
