Responsibilities

  1. Finance Policies & Guidelines

  • Develop, maintain, and align Finance policies with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions.

  • Communicate and train stakeholders on Finance policies.

  • Monitor policy effectiveness, recommend updates, and complete required attestations.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on Finance policies.

  1. Accounting Advisory

  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex issues, prepare memos, and develop policies.

  • Assess and implement new accounting/sustainability standards, including system enhancements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting issues and implementation.

  • Review financial statements for compliance.

  • Monitor emerging accounting trends and liaise with auditors as needed.

  1. Other Finance Initiatives

  • Perform financial viability assessments for vendor risk management and contract reviews.

  • Develop templates and tools to improve Finance processes.

  • Support Finance Academy activities and broader Finance initiatives requiring technical accounting expertise, including leading or supporting system implementations.

  • Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in accounting or commerce
  • At least 4 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience
  • CPA designation is a requirement, any Actuarial training or designations are a plus
  • Exposure on IFRS 17 and 9 implementation for insurance companies is a plus
  • Knowledge of Business and Corporate finance and actuarial systems
  • Knowledge of insurance industry, products and related accounting issues

Work set-up: Hybrid (3days onsite 2 days WFH)
