About the job Internal Auditor Data Analyst
Traditional Audit Responsibilities:

Execute day-to-day audit activities, such as preparing and maintaining workpapers, reviewing transactions to ensure policy compliance, and conducting attribute testing to identify deviations.

Document business process workflows using Microsoft Visio, based on discussions with stakeholders, to support understanding and audit documentation.

Follow established audit protocols and procedures to ensure consistent quality across all Internal Audit outputs.

Interpret and analyze data effectively, and present numerical insights clearly and accurately.

Contribute to the enhancement and refinement of the firms internal audit methodology, test strategies, and reporting processes.
Data Analysis Responsibilities:

Support data analytics initiatives within the department, including maintaining and enhancing current dashboards (Tableau or Power BI) and creating innovative dashboards for ongoing monitoring and testing efforts.

Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and business insights; stay informed on best practices and developments in data analytics.

Build and utilize ad hoc datasets using tools like SQL and Excel to aid in the development of visual reports and dashboards.

Understand and document key data structures and definitions, and share that knowledge across the Internal Audit team to foster collaboration.

Recommend and implement improvements to data gathering and analysis processes to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Computing, Information Science, or a related field.

3 to 5 years of experience in Auditing, Data Analytics, Finance, and/or Accounting, preferably at a large professional services firm.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in Reporting and Analytics or similar functions, with familiarity in tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and SQL considered a plus.

Able to work independently and collaboratively, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
