Job Overview:
We are looking for a strategic, analytical, and commercially driven Merchandising Planner to oversee and optimize product assortment, pricing, and in-store execution. This role will play a critical part in driving sales growth, improving inventory productivity, and elevating the customer experience across both physical and digital retail environments. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical acumen, cross-functional collaboration skills, and a deep understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Performance & Analytics

  • Analyze product and category performance across multiple channels and locations.

  • Leverage historical sales data, customer insights, and market trends to support merchandising decisions.

  • Generate reports and forecasts that guide assortment, pricing, and inventory strategies.

2. Assortment Planning

  • Collaborate with buying and planning teams to identify assortment gaps and development opportunities.

  • Customize product assortments by channel and location based on performance and customer profile.

  • Maintain up-to-date product catalogs and merchandising documentation.

3. Visual Merchandising & Planogram Management

  • Evaluate and improve product placement strategies to boost visibility and conversion.

  • Design and implement planograms aligned with brand strategy and sales goals.

  • Ensure in-store execution adheres to visual merchandising standards and guidelines.

4. Pricing & Promotions

  • Conduct price benchmarking and competitor analysis regularly.

  • Develop pricing strategies that balance revenue growth with market competitiveness.

  • Coordinate with Marketing and Retail Operations to support promotional campaigns and seasonal strategies.

5. Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Provide direction and mentorship to junior merchandisers or planners.

  • Act as a liaison between Buying, Marketing, Retail Operations, and Product Development teams.

  • Ensure consistent execution of merchandising plans across all functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in retail or merchandising, ideally within fashion, lifestyle, or retail sectors.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and merchandising tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to blend creative merchandising with data-driven planning.
