Summary:

A leading audit firm is seeking a Tax Advisory Director. This role builds and takes ownership of key business relationships by managing others to deliver quality work. Manages the preparation, delivery, reporting, and evaluation for assigned projects and engagements, taking responsibility for those larger and higher-risk projects and engagements. Provides advanced technical knowledge, direction, and training to others. Participates in team practice decisions, including resource allocation, career development of people, and other people management decisions. Has a focus on business development, building networks, and people development. Actively collaborates within the firm through engagements and networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple and concurrent complex projects, possibly with the contribution of cross-divisional/group specialists.
  • Execute projects to a level that meets the firm's quality standards and take accountability for managing scope and delivering timely and quality deliverables through strong collaboration.
  • Understand the commercial and contractual aspects of an engagement, including managing fee proposals, overruns, and work above budget.
  • Potentially lead a practice management area within the service line, i.e., People, Financial Management, or a Market Segment.
  • Simplify highly complex business situations and strategies to identify key issues and priorities.
  • Negotiate with high levels of discretion with internal or external parties such as clients, government bodies, and other organisations.
  • Drive pragmatic and innovative solutions that strengthen business performance and differentiate the firm from the competition.
  • Take action to remain up to date with market knowledge, technical skills, and innovative practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Postgraduate Degree in a relevant field and CA/CTA or equivalent certification
  • 5+ years of experience in Australian tax consulting, compliance, or advisory services
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and exposure to Australian taxation and accounting legislation
  • Strong expertise in tax compliance, tax advisory, and relevant accounting standards
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex tax concepts
  • Client-centric mindset with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders
