About the job Logistics Operations Manager (La Union/Misamis Oriental)
A global manufacturing company is seeking two Logistics Operations Managers to lead end-to-end plant logistics, including port operations for inbound local and imported materials, warehouse management for finished product movement, and all safety, sustainability, and housekeeping standards. The role ensures cost-efficient, world-class logistics execution, drives digitalization to eliminate inefficiencies, and provides strong customer service and rapid issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead plant logistics operations and coordinate with internal stakeholders on logistics execution.
- Plan and manage the flow of materials from manufacturing and suppliers to customers.
- Direct transportation, storage, and distribution activities; manage inventory to meet demand while avoiding excess costs.
- Oversee inbound and outbound material flow, including locally sourced, imported, and shipped products.
- Evaluate delivery options and select the most cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Conduct operational and performance reviews with carriers, transporters, cargo handlers, and logistics service providers, ensuring safety is prioritized.
- Manage diverse distribution and cargo-handling methods (trucks, tractor/trailers, ships, and specialized equipment for urgent situations).
- Use IT systems to forecast stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and logistics performance.
- Identify hazards and manage safety for all logistics areas, equipment, processes, and facility maintenance (piers, warehouses, mobile equipment).
- Ensure only qualified transporters, vessels, drivers, crew, and third-party providers are used in compliance with required safety standards.
- Drive digitalization initiatives to optimize processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Maintain high standards of safety, sustainability, and housekeeping across logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience, including 3 years in a leadership capacity overseeing plant logistics operations such as transportation, warehouse management, port activities, and inventory control.
- Proven ability in logistics execution within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing safety, hazard identification, and contractor oversight in logistics operations.
- Familiarity with working with carriers, transporters, and logistics service providers.
- Proficiency in SAP for forecasting, planning, cost monitoring, logistics performance evaluation and warehouse management.
- Demonstrated ability to operate cost-efficiently while ensuring high service quality.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
