Job Summary
The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying and acquiring new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and driving revenue growth by promoting the company's IT services and technology solutions. The role works closely with technical teams to understand client requirements, develop customized proposals, and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Generate and qualify new business opportunities through lead generation and prospecting.
- Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline from lead generation to deal closure.
- Identify target industries, potential clients, and market opportunities.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Collaborate with management in developing new business initiatives and sales strategies.
Account Management
- Build, maintain, and expand relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Understand customer business requirements and recommend appropriate IT solutions.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective account management and regular engagement.
- Monitor account status, customer updates, and business opportunities.
Proposal & Solution Development
- Conduct client needs assessments and solution discussions.
- Prepare proposals and quotations based on customer requirements.
- Work closely with technical teams to define project scope, assumptions, technical specifications, and solution architecture.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline updates.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual sales reports and forecasts.
- Assist with client accreditation, billing coordination, and accounts receivable documentation.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with technical, implementation, and support teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Engage internal stakeholders to align customer requirements with business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Commerce, or other related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in Business Development, Account Management, or B2B Sales within an IT services, IT solutions, system integrator, or managed services company.
- Proven track record in B2B sales and new business acquisition.
- Experience conducting client presentations, solution selling, and contract negotiations.
- Experience collaborating with technical teams to develop customer solutions.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and productivity tools is preferred.
- Experience in financial reporting, forecasting, or pipeline management is an advantage.
