Applications Architect

Our client is seeking an experienced Applications Architect to join their dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will design and architect application solutions within the critical communications sector. You will be responsible for ensuring the application portfolio meets the stringent on-premise security requirements of customers, while also being deployable as a service on public cloud providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Design and Planning: Design and develop scalable, secure, and robust application architectures for critical communications solutions. You will ensure applications are deployable both on-premises at customer sites with restrictive security requirements and as a service on public cloud platforms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, system engineers, and other cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into actionable architectural designs. You will act as the main liaison and translation point between customer needs, product directives, and engineering teams.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams during the design, development, and implementation phases. You'll stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the application portfolio remains cutting-edge and competitive.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure all application architectures and solutions meet the stringent security and compliance requirements of our customers and the critical communications industry. You will implement security best practices, encryption, and other security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure application integrity.
• Documentation and Communication: Create comprehensive architectural documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications. You will communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including customers, product management, and engineering teams, to ensure alignment and understanding of architectural decisions.

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll have a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (a Masters degree is a plus).

You also bring:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in application architecture, design, and development.
• Experience designing and deploying applications with stringent security requirements.
• Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• A strong understanding of critical communications systems, protocols, and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Relevant certifications in architecture and cloud platforms (a plus).
