Overview
Were hiring a Senior Python Engineer to take ownership of the core product powering a next-generation tool for the post-production industry. Our platform automates the migration of complex editing projects between software like Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, eliminating hours of manual labor for creative professionals. As we prepare for our first design partners and early adopters, youll be instrumental in stabilizing and evolving the product built as a Python monolith and contributing to future architectural direction.
Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize Python code within an 18-month mature monolithic codebase

Address and resolve bugs and edge cases across the application

Collaborate with founders on product direction, integrations, and roadmap

Integrate APIs and SDKs from editing platforms such as Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve

Ensure data consistency across platforms using structured formats (e.g., JSON, YAML, XML)

Improve performance using multi-threading and optimization techniques

Contribute to a growing codebase with well-documented, readable, and testable code

Support the build-out of UI components (Python-based, desktop context)
Must-Haves

4+ years of professional experience with Python in production environments

Comfortable working in a monolithic architecture

Experience with workflow automation or process optimization

Familiarity with structured data formats (JSON, YAML, XML)

Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Ability to work independently and take full technical ownership

Interest in or familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve

Previous experience in startups or bootstrapped product environments

Motivation to grow into a Founding Engineer role
Nice-to-Haves

Experience integrating APIs or SDKs from third-party tools

Knowledge of industry-specific interchange formats (EDL, XML, AAF)

Experience with multi-threaded programming and application performance tuning

Familiarity with media processing libraries such as OpenCV and PIL
