Lead Data Engineer

Type: Full-time Contractor
Location: Argentina (Hybrid in Buenos Aires preferred) or Brazil (Remote)

Overview:
We are hiring a Lead Data Engineer to own and build the companys data platform. This role involves developing ETL pipelines, data models, and BI dashboards, as well as mentoring others on best practices and data quality.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using SQL and Python
• Design data models with DBT and manage cloud data warehouses (BigQuery)
• Collaborate with stakeholders to scope data needs and SLAs
• Develop Looker dashboards and self-serve analytics tools
• Maintain data schema consistency across Segment and Mixpanel
• Support AI/LLM datasets and data prep processes

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years in data engineering
• Advanced SQL and Python
• Hands-on with BigQuery, DBT, and Looker
• Experience with Segment and Mixpanel
• Stakeholder communication and team mentoring
• Fluent English

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Airflow, Fivetran, or similar
• Exposure to marketplace or fintech domains
• Familiarity with ML/AI data prep tools
