At COCAS & ME Living, we provide housing, therapy, case management, and reentry support to individuals and families overcoming domestic violence, substance abuse, homelessness, and incarceration.

We are expanding our reach and impact, and funding is at the heart of making it possible. We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer who can turn our vision into winning proposals and secure the resources to keep our mission thriving.

Position Summary

The Grant Writer will identify funding opportunities, write compelling proposals, and manage the grant application process. This role is crucial for sustaining and growing our programs through local, state, federal, and private foundation grants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant opportunities from federal, state, local, and private funders.

  • Write, edit, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports.

  • Collaborate with program staff to gather data, outcomes, and success stories.

  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and submissions.

  • Track awarded grants and assist with compliance reporting.

  • Build relationships with funders to strengthen organizational visibility.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong grant writing and persuasive communication skills.

  • Ability to translate complex programs into clear, compelling proposals.

  • Research and analytical skills to identify aligned funding opportunities.

  • Knowledge of nonprofit financials, budgets, and compliance requirements.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to deadlines.

  • Familiarity with grant management software is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 2 years of grant writing experience (nonprofit or human services preferred).

  • Proven track record of successfully funded grants.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $16 $30 per hour (based on experience and success rate).

  • Flexible schedule (remote options available).
