ABO UT THE ROLE
We're looking for a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer who can own the AWS
environment of a growing GPS technology company end-to-end. This is not a ticket-executor role —
it's for someone who makes architectural decisions, drives real cost reduction, and works closely
with the product team to keep infrastructure fast, reliable, and lean.
The client already has AWS and Terraform in place. Your job is to take ownership, optimize
aggressively, and build the systems that let the dev team ship without friction.
W HAT YOU' LL DO
Own and evolve AWS infrastructure using Terraform as the primary IaC tool — modules,
remote state, multi-environment consistency.
Lead cloud cost optimization: analyze spend with Cost Explorer, implement rightsizing, savings
plans, reserved instances, and architectural changes with measurable results.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployment of backend (Node.js), frontend
(React), and mobile components.
Monitor infrastructure health and set up proactive alerting using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and
AWS-native tools.
Enforce security best practices: IAM least-privilege policies, Secrets Manager, VPC
segmentation, WAF.
Manage multi-environment setups (dev, staging, production) — no manual snowflakes,
everything in code.
Support containerization workflows with Docker and ECS; evaluate EKS adoption as the
platform grows.
Collaborate directly with the fullstack team and client stakeholders in English to define and ship
infrastructure requirements.
W HAT WE' RE LOOKING FO R
Must-Have
5+ years of hands-on AWS experience in production environments — this is the non-negotiable
core.
Production-grade Terraform: real ownership of IaC codebases, not just scripts from tutorials.
Proven AWS cost optimization results you can speak to with specific numbers in an interview.
Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline,
Jenkins, or equivalent).
Solid AWS networking: VPCs, subnets, security groups, ALB/NLB, Route 53, CloudFront.
Docker for containerization; ECS for workload orchestration.
Fluent in English — you'll communicate directly with a U.S.-based client team, written and
verbal.
Comfortable working autonomously and owning outcomes end-to-end without daily oversight.
Nice-to-Have
AWS certifications: Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), DevOps Engineer, or
SysOps Administrator.
Serverless experience: Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge.
Kubernetes (EKS) for container orchestration at scale.
Observability beyond CloudWatch: Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
Infrastructure experience on IoT, GPS, or telematics platforms — a genuine differentiator for
this client.
Python or Bash scripting for operational automation.

THI S RO LE I S NOT FO R YOU I F
You need a fully defined architecture and runbook before making infrastructure changes.
You prefer a large team with clear swim lanes and dedicated security or networking specialists.
You optimize for perfect scalability before proving that the cost or reliability problem is real.
You're uncomfortable communicating directly with clients and translating ambiguous
requirements.
You've only contributed to infrastructure in a support role — this requires end-to-end ownership.
