FP&A Analyst / Data & Finance Analyst

Executive Summary

The FP&A Analyst / Data & Finance Analyst is a data-first role for someone who thinks in numbers, systems, and dashboards, and who understands accounting and finance well enough to turn financial data into decisions. This is not a traditional accounting position: the company does not yet have a dedicated FP&A function, and this hire is meant to build that capability — transforming raw financial and operational data into models, dashboards, and insights that drive planning and executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Build, own, and continuously improve Power BI dashboards and financial models that give leadership real-time visibility into performance, margins, and key business drivers. Design and maintain FP&A processes — budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis — where none currently exist, establishing the company's first structured planning cadence. Extract, clean, and structure data from ERP and commercial systems using SQL and advanced Excel to support financial reporting and analysis. Automate recurring reporting and data workflows using RPA tools to reduce manual work and increase reporting accuracy and speed. Partner with accounting to understand and validate financial data (accounting entries, financial statements), translating it into forward-looking analysis rather than owning day-to-day bookkeeping. Apply continuous improvement and cost-control methodologies to identify efficiencies across supply chain and commercial operations, backed by data. Analyze market context and business trends to support leadership decision-making in scenarios of uncertainty.

Professional Qualifications

Degree in Business Administration, Industrial/Production Engineering, Economics, Public Accounting, or a related field. Strong data orientation: advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and Excel is essential; accounting/finance knowledge is expected but secondary to analytical and technical skill. Prior exposure to FP&A, financial modeling, or business analytics is highly valued; hands-on accounting-only experience without an analytical component is not the right fit. Knowledge of process optimization techniques, including Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Strong communication skills to translate data into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders; comfortable working with autonomy and leading initiatives. English proficiency.
