We're Hiring: Senior Accountant – Client Accounting Services (CAS)

Location: 100% Remote but the person needs to be located in the US.
Compensation: See benefits section at the end

We're modernizing the industry - scaling through strategic M&A, leveraging technology intelligently, and building a team that sets the standard for proactive financial insight and advisory service.

We're looking for a Senior Accountant in Client Accounting Services (CAS) who brings both strong technical accounting skills and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.

This role is highly client-facing. You'll help business owners understand their numbers, guide quarterly financial conversations, and support strategic decisions through forecasting, financial analysis, and operational insight.

What You'll Do

Manage and review monthly and quarterly accounting deliverables, including month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.

Lead Quarterly Business Review meetings, presenting financial performance, trends, and key insights to business owners.

Prepare financial reporting that goes beyond the numbers, including:

  • Cash flow analysis
  • Trend identification
  • Key operational insights for client decision-making

Advise clients on FP&A initiatives such as budgets, rolling forecasts, profitability analysis, and KPI dashboards.

Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for clients.

Ensure books are tax-ready and consistent with year-end reporting, coordinating with the firm's tax team as needed.

Identify potential tax implications or planning opportunities during financial discussions and communicate them to the tax team.

Mentor junior staff and review work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to firm workflows.

Participate in onboarding new clients, helping design their accounting systems, reporting structures, and processes.

You're a Fit If You:

Can confidently lead financial conversations with business owners and explain what their numbers mean.

Have 4–7+ years of accounting experience, ideally in CAS, outsourced accounting, or public accounting.

Possess strong GAAP and accrual accounting knowledge.

Are comfortable preparing and analyzing complete financial statements.

Understand the connection between financial statements, cash flow, and business performance.

Have working knowledge of business tax concepts and understand how accounting decisions impact tax outcomes.

Can manage multiple clients and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.

Are able to spot financial inconsistencies or operational issues and provide thoughtful solutions.

Communicate with confidence, clarity, and empathy — both internally and externally.

Thrive in a firm that values autonomy, accountability, and execution.

Technology You'll Work With

We operate in a modern, cloud-forward environment and expect our team to be comfortable navigating multiple platforms.

Typical tools include:

  • QuickBooks Online (primary platform)
  • Xero and Microsoft Business Central (occasionally)
  • Payroll systems such as Gusto, ADP, and Paychex
  • Financial reporting tools like Fathom
  • Canopy (workflow and project management)
  • Microsoft365 suite

You should be comfortable driving the software rather than being driven by it.

Preferred Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or EA designation (or pursuing)
Experience leading advisory or financial review meetings
Prior experience mentoring or supervising staff
Experience with financial forecasting, KPI development, or budgeting
