About the Role

Across India, young people are re-imagining food, farming and livelihoods through agroecology. This role sits at the heart of that journey.

We are looking for an Agroecology Network Associate who can move fluidly between network coordination and on-ground realities. Someone who enjoys working with youth leaders, farmer groups, and partner organisations, while also keeping systems, budgets and processes running smoothly.

This is a role for someone who doesn’t want to be boxed into only “agriculture” or only “youth work,” but is excited by the intersection of the two.

What You Will Do

1. Network & Youth Engagement

  • Support coordination of the youth-led agroecology network.

  • Engage with youth leaders, collectives, and partner organisations.

  • Help organise meetings, trainings, convenings and peer-learning spaces.

  • Support communication and relationship-building across the network.

2. On-Ground Programme Support

  • Work closely with the Assam team to ensure activities are running as planned.

  • Travel to field locations (primarily Assam, Nepal, Hyderabad, Delhi) as needed.

  • Support youth groups, farmer collectives, and local partners during programme activities.

3. Budgets & Project Management

  • Support budget tracking and financial planning with the Project Coordinator.

  • Assist in maintaining project trackers, timelines and deliverables.

  • Coordinate with vendors, partners and internal teams as needed.

4. Data, Documentation & Learning

  • Support data collection from field teams and youth leaders.

  • Assist in basic analysis and synthesis of programme learnings.

  • Help maintain simple, clear records of activities and outcomes.

Who We’re Looking For

We are less interested in perfect CVs, and more interested in people who care deeply and are willing to learn.

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Are early in your career and excited to work with youth and communities

  • Have some exposure to agriculture, rural development, youth work, or community initiatives.

  • Enjoy working in collectives, networks and collaborative environments.

  • Are comfortable handling both people-facing and systems-facing work.

  • Are open to frequent travel.

  • Can work with basic tools like Google Sheets, Docs, and presentations.

Language:

  • Comfort with English and Hindi is required.

  • Knowledge of Assamese will be a strong advantage.

What This Role Is Like

  • You will work with youth leaders, farmers, NGOs, funders, and mentors.

  • Some weeks will be spent in the field, others on coordination, budgets, and planning.

  • You will be part of a values-driven, youth-centric collective, not a rigid corporate structure.

  • This is a role where learning, initiative, and relationships matter as much as technical skills.

Note:

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We are looking to close the position by 27 February 2026, as the role is expected to begin on 1 March 2026. We encourage you to apply early.

Please note that as a small team, our review process may take a little time. However, we are committed to responding to all applicants. You will receive a response within 2–3 weeks of applying, or by 27 February 2026 (whichever is earlier), as we aim to close the position by then.
