Position Overview:

We currently have a number of roles available for experienced people looking for their next exciting challenge in the utilities, renewables, infrastructure and rail sectors across the UK.

Responsibilities:

The main responsibility for the Utilities Manager would be to manage a series of utilities protection works, temporary utility connections and permanent utilities diversions, from inception to completion and to ensure individual projects can be delivered in line with quality, time and cost constraints.

The Utilities Manager will be the first point of contact for all project associated utility works and will be required to develop and maintain a strong relationship with the various utility companies and stakeholders.

This will involve the following:-

Management and coordination of all utility works within appointed projects

Establish and oversee the utility works programme, in conjunction with the Project planning team to meet project milestones in a cost-effective manner to mitigate identified risks

Provide strategic direction on all utility works through the design, planning and delivery of infrastructure projects

Liaison with key external stakeholders and develop working relationships with utility companies

Hold regular meetings with utility companies and key stakeholders to monitor the progress of the project(s) and work that needs to be completed

Report programme progress and obtain commercial/project approvals as required

Develop and maintain effective channels of communication enabling rapid articulation of the impacts of changes to scope and aid the delivery teams in providing mitigation

Identify risks and opportunities associated with utility works on appointed projects

Support the wider business on new business opportunities and tender submissions

Represent the company to major customers and professional associations

Build and maintain relationships with Clients

Establish project requirements and ensure correct level and competence of resource required to deliver

You will need:

Minimum of 5 years relevant utilities experience.

Proven utility industry background having knowledge and understanding of utility companies processes

Demonstrable track record of managing utility works within large construction programmes

A qualification in civil engineering, project management or equivalent

Knowledge of UK Rail and / or UK Highways industries

Proven ability to build and maintain excellent collaborative, working relationships and effective channels of communication within a project environment

Experience of working within multi-discipline project teams

Good knowledge of Health & Safety, Environmental and Technical issues pertaining to the companys services and to current legislation

Good understanding of project design, construction and delivery interfaces

Demonstrate a level of leadership, such that junior members of the team can be provided support, direction, and mentorship
