Duties/Responsibilities
- Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools.
- Join metal section using various welding techniques as well as cut metal
- sections by using flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines.
- Welding of joints
- Fabrication of steel truss, etc.
- Verify measurements, elevation and alignment
- Housekeeping of working area and cleaning of tools used
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heatresistant
- gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and practices
- Coordinate with other team members as required
- Inspect welded joints for quality and adhere to standards
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or specifications
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
- Perform basic non-destructive testing (NDT) methods if required
- Perform basic repairs on welding/fabrication equipment
- Perform welding operations using various techniques
- Prepare metal materials for fabrication and welding
- Set up welding equipment and adjust welding parameters
- Stay updated with industry advancements
- Use fabrication equipment and tools
