About the job Veterinary Client & Care Team Assistant
Iowa Equine – Huxley, IA
Are you the kind of person who can confidently juggle client communication, hands-on patient care, and the fast pace of a busy veterinary practice—all while staying calm, organized, and compassionate? Supporting patient flow during appointments and farm calls
Monitoring horses and assisting with safe, efficient patient care
Your work helps ensure clients feel informed and supported while our medical team can focus on providing outstanding care.
Who You Are
You’re dependable, adaptable, and take pride in helping both people and animals. The ideal candidate brings:
- 1+ years of veterinary, animal care, medical office, or customer service experience preferred
Horse experience is required
- Ability to safely handle animals and equipment, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 25–50 pounds frequently, and 10–20 pounds on a regular basis.
- Team members should be comfortable standing or sitting for extended periods, with regular movement throughout the day
- Tasks may also involve walking, lifting and carrying, pushing and pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, and occasional kneeling or crouching.
Comfort around horses or willingness to learn equine handling skills

Calm professionalism during busy or high-pressure situations
Great attention to detail and follow-through
Positive attitude and team-first mindset
Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in changing weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift, move, and safely assist with animals/equipment
Horse experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude and work ethic.
