Our client is seeking a Director of Medical Surgical Services to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for the Medical/Surgical units, including Telemetry. This role ensures high‑quality patient care, regulatory compliance, strong team performance, and effective collaboration with physicians and hospital leadership.
The ideal leader brings a blend of clinical expertise, operational discipline, and the ability to build a culture centered on quality, safety, and accountability.

Responsibilities:
- Support strategic planning, program development, and service line growth.
- Manage departmental budgets, productivity, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.
- Provide leadership and oversight for Medical/Surgical and Telemetry services, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care.
- Lead, mentor, and develop nursing and clinical staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, engagement, and professional growth.
- Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient care needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Drive quality improvement efforts, patient safety initiatives, and evidence‑based practice adoption.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership to strengthen clinical partnerships and operational outcomes.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current or eligible New Mexico RN license.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Experience building and leading teams focused on quality initiatives.
- Minimum seven (7) years of healthcare experience, including three (3) years in a leadership role.
- Strong operational experience in staffing, budgeting, and performance management.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience leading Med/Surg and/or Telemetry units.
- Master's degree (MSN, MBA, MHA, or related field)
- Experience working in a for‑profit hospital environment.
- Demonstrated success in developing strong relationships with providers and interdisciplinary teams.
