Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Asset Accounting Manager to lead asset and property accounting operations across multiple regulated jurisdictions, including Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida. This role oversees complex PPE and hard‑asset accounting, directs regulatory accounting activities, and plays a critical role in preparing financial components for rate cases. The Senior Manager will also serve as the primary point of contact for high‑level data requests from internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

This position requires deep technical accounting expertise, strong leadership capability, and the ability to operate at a testimony‑ready level in regulatory environments.

Responsibilities:

Asset & Property Accounting Leadership

  • Lead end‑to‑end asset and property accounting operations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity of all assets‑related financial data.
  • Oversee PPE accounting, fixed‑asset lifecycle management, and hard‑asset reporting.

Regulatory Accounting & Rate Case Support

  • Direct regulatory accounting activities and ensure adherence to state and federal requirements.
  • Prepare financial schedules, analyses, and supporting documentation for rate cases.
  • Manage responses to regulatory inquiries and high‑volume data requests with accuracy and defensibility.
  • Provide expert‑level support during regulatory audits and rate proceedings; prepare testimony‑ready materials.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, Regulatory, Operations, and Engineering teams to support capital project accounting and compliance initiatives.
  • Serve as a senior‑level resource for complex accounting questions and regulatory interpretations.

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Guide and mentor asset accounting staff; elevate technical capability and consistency in accounting practices.
  • Support team development, performance management, and knowledge transfer across the department.

Qualifications (Must‑Haves)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in a regulated industry is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in assets, property, or regulatory accounting.
  • Strong proficiency in PPE accounting, fixed‑asset lifecycle management, and hard‑asset reporting.
  • Experience preparing materials for rate cases or participating in regulatory proceedings.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to oversee and develop accounting staff.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
