Our client is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineering Specialist to support deployment and integration of Ribbon/Sonus/Genband gateways, Session Border Controllers, and SIP interconnection engineering for mission‑critical voice systems. This role also supports E‑911/NG911 call routing, PSAP integration, and connectivity across federal emergency‑communications environments.

The position plays a key role in ensuring reliable emergency call delivery between gateway platforms, federal routing systems, and public safety answering points.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30AM-5:00PM (ET)

Responsibilities:

Telecommunications Engineering & Integration

  • Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Deploy and integrate Ribbon Federal Edge / Sonus / Genband gateways.
  • Support configuration, testing, and validation of Session Border Controllers.
  • Analyze and resolve E‑911 call‑flow issues, including signaling and media path failures.
  • Perform deployment validation, readiness assessments, and technical documentation.
  • Engineer and troubleshoot SIP interconnections, policy routing, and interoperability between voice domains.

Emergency Communications & Federal Connectivity

  • Assist with issue resolution affecting gateway performance, SIP routing, and emergency call delivery.
  • Coordinate technical activities related to E‑911/NG911 routing, location validation, and interoperability.
  • Support integration and connectivity among gateway platforms, federal routing systems, and PSAP environments.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • 5+ years of VoIP/SIP engineering.
  • 10+ years telecommunications engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with: Ribbon / Sonus / Genband, Session Border Controllers, SIP signaling and interconnects, E‑911 or PSAP integration and Wireshark for packet‑level troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with DISA VISP.
  • Cisco certifications (CCNP/CCIE)
  • Experience with NG911 public safety communications.
  • Experience supporting federal emergency‑communications programs or Army voice modernization.
