Our client is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support their Finance Department in daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The primary responsibility is reconciling the banks correspondent accounts and supporting general ledger and month‑end processes.

Onsite | No Visa Sponsorship | No Relocation Assistance

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, Banking Hours (5 days on‑site)

Base Salary: $75,000–$80,000 (can be higher for candidates with banking experience)

Requirements:

  • Process Accounts Payable.
  • Prepare management reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Post transactions to the General Ledger.
  • Set up accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets.
  • Prepare daily correspondent bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare workpapers for internal and external audits.
  • Provide cross‑training backup for other accounting staff.
  • Prepare schedules for external audits, internal audits, and regulatory exams.
  • Perform daily and month‑end GL reconciliations; investigate discrepancies with bank staff and management.
  • Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies.

Qualifications/Must-Haves:

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong judgment, initiative, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory accounting principles.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including interaction with senior managers and executives.
  • Ability to analyze processes and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve efficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or credit unions strongly preferred.
