Our client is seeking experienced Financial Services SOX/Internal Audit Consultants to support year‑end SOX 404 testing activities. These consultants will play a critical role in executing control testing, documenting results, and partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of all SOX deliverables.

This engagement requires strong technical audit skills, familiarity with financial services processes, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Onsite | No Visa Sponsorship | No Relocation Assistance

Contract Duration: 3–5 Months (Potential Extension Through Year‑End)

Responsibilities:

  • Support remediation validation and follow‑up activities.
  • Assist with issue tracking, reporting, and status updates.
  • Ensure adherence to professional audit standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Prepare work papers, document testing results, and identify control deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance, and business stakeholders.
  • Perform SOX 404 control testing across financial reporting and operational processes.
  • Conduct walkthroughs, identify key controls, and assess control design and operating effectiveness.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of SOX 404, internal controls, and audit methodologies.
  • Strong experience in SOX testing, Internal Audit, or ICFR within financial services.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Residential Mortgage Credit, Mortgage‑Backed Securities (MBS), Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) or Mortgage, Capital Markets, or Structured Finance Environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Prior consulting or contract audit experience.
  • Familiarity with accelerated year‑end audit cycles.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
