Our client is seeking a Drawing Operator II to be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring a multiwire drawing machine used to draw various sizes of copper wire from feeder stock. This is a medium‑skill industrial operator role that requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a physical manufacturing environment.

Work Schedule: 7:00PM–7:00AM

Requirements:

  • Perform pay‑off and take‑up reel changes.
  • Weigh each take‑up package and record production accurately.
  • Run correct wire sizes and lengths on the proper take‑up package.
  • Maintain proper layer‑wound packages and accurate WIP tag inventory.
  • Check drawing solution concentration and identify feeder stock issues.
  • Measure elongation and verify proper annealing on each take‑up package.
  • Place scrap in designated bins and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Set up and operate a multiwire drawing machine according to production orders.
  • Load and unload bobbins/reels, including matched sets and matched lengths.
  • Make high‑quality hot‑welds and cold‑welds to maintain continuous operation.
  • Complete die set‑ups and measure wire after each die to ensure correct reduction.
  • String wires in proper positions to produce a correctly constructed take‑up package.
  • Coordinate material handling with lift drivers to maintain continuous production.
  • Perform gear changes, traverse adjustments, and annealer settings as required.
  • Follow verbal instructions and maintain communication with supervisors and peers.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and adjust machine controls to maintain quality and production speed.

Qualifications/Must-Haves:

  • Reliable attendance.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English (Spanish bilingual is a plus)

Quality & Safety:

  • Report quality issues immediately.
  • Follow ISO Quality System procedures for all daily activities.
  • Perform required quality checks and minor maintenance.
  • Do not release product until all quality checks are passed.
  • Follow all safety rules and maintain a clean work area.

Cross‑Training:

  • Train on additional equipment within the workgroup.
  • Fill in for more complex roles when trained and needed.
  • Rotate positions as required to maintain skill proficiency.

Physical & Environmental Conditions:

  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Work in hot and cold environments typical of a non‑climate‑controlled industrial facility.
