Our client is seeking a hands‑on Kitting Production Supervisor to lead a 2nd‑shift team responsible for material kitting, staging, and line‑side support in a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing environment. This role ensures production schedules are met by coordinating people, materials, and processes while driving continuous improvement and maintaining a safe, efficient work area.

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift (3PM–1AM)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain inventory accuracy, reduce WIP, and eliminate material‑flow bottlenecks.
  • Train team members on safety, quality, equipment operation, and 6S standards.
  • Partner with technical, quality, and production teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Drive continuous improvement using lean tools (Kaizen, Kanban, waste reduction)
  • Serve as first point of contact for employee relations matters, including union interactions.
  • Track performance metrics and support annual goals for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Lead and supervise a 2nd‑shift kitting team to meet daily production and material‑flow requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely kitting, staging, sequencing, and delivery of materials to production lines.

Qualifications/Must Haves:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience leading teams in kitting, material handling, or production support.
  • Proven servant‑leadership approach with strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, production scheduling, and process control.
  • 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a medium/high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • ERP experience (SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or similar)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
