Our client is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Specialist – Sterilizer to provide regional support across multiple healthcare facilities as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sterilizer systems. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of sterilizers and other high‑end clinical equipment while operating independently with minimal supervision. The position requires strong technical depth, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a travel‑based workload across the Boston and New Hampshire region.

Travel: Extensive regional travel across the Boston and New Hampshire area (car allowance included)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate service documentation, records, and reporting.
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned region; valid driver's license required.
  • Develop and execute maintenance strategies aligned with clinical and operational needs.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain sterilizers and advanced clinical equipment across multiple facilities.
  • Operate independently in a field‑based environment; may provide dotted‑line guidance to BMET personnel.
  • Serve as the regional SME for sterilizer systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • OEM training on Steris and/or Getinge equipment (required)
  • Shares knowledge across facilities and may mentor BMET staff.
  • Operates with minimal supervision and makes independent decisions.
  • Maintains manufacturer‑level proficiency in at least one advanced modality.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains advanced clinical equipment and systems.
  • Demonstrates strong planning, organization, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining advanced clinical equipment in healthcare settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent hands‑on HTM experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in electronic, mechanical, or electro‑mechanical repair within a healthcare technology environment.
  • Advanced technical expertise in sterilizer systems, with the ability to maintain and repair equipment to manufacturer standards.
