Our client is seeking a mid‑level Inventory Accountant to provide coverage during a maternity leave. This role focuses on inventory accounting, reconciliations, RCM‑related analysis, SG&A support, and basic month‑end tasks. The ideal candidate has solid foundational accounting experience and can step into an established workflow with minimal ramp‑up.

Requirements:

  • Assist with documentation for internal controls and audit requests.
  • Support RCM‑related analysis and prepare supporting schedules.
  • Assist with SG&A reporting, coding reviews, and expense analysis.
  • Provide ad‑hoc reporting and analysis as needed during the coverage period.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records across multiple locations and systems.
  • Support month‑end close activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Reconcile inventory transactions such as receipts, transfers, and write‑offs.
  • Prepare and review journal entries related to inventory, COGS, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform inventory accounting, including reconciliations, valuation checks, and variance analysis.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience supporting month‑end close.
  • Proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, basic analysis)
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience, including hands‑on inventory accounting.
  • Strong understanding of inventory processes, reconciliations, and COGS.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with RCM or SG&A analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems used for inventory management.
  • Experience in consumer goods, food & beverage, or manufacturing.
