Our client is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician responsible for performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of plant facilities, building systems, and grounds. This role supports safe, reliable operations in a manufacturing environment and requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and proficiency operating maintenance vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Follow all safety procedures including proper lockout/tagout.
  • Work flexible hours as needed (e.g., early arrival for snow removal)
  • Manage parts inventory, order supplies, and pick up materials offsite as needed.
  • Provide backup support for custodial and production equipment maintenance functions.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Perform seasonal grounds work including snow removal and outdoor maintenance throughout the year.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and respond to work requests for assigned areas.
  • Operate and maintain facility equipment such as forklifts, sweepers/scrubbers, tractors, and company vehicles.
  • Perform daily maintenance and repair of building systems and facility equipment, including plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, metal cutting/brazing, minor electrical, assembly, installation, and equipment removal.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. regularly.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to support onsite operations daily.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet and depths up to 10 feet.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, snow, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, communication skills, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks throughout the shift.
  • 3–5 years of facility or industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding/brazing, and minor electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, company trucks, sweepers/scrubbers, tractors, welding/cutting equipment, and powered hand tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Two‑year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related skilled trade.
  • Experience with machine shop equipment such as threading machines, plasma cutters, welders, and fabrication tools.

Work Environment:

  • Onsite manufacturing facility.
  • Exposure to noise, vibration, chemicals, and outdoor weather.
  • Physical activity including climbing, kneeling, lifting, and working at heights.
