About the job Registered Midwife
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Registered Midwife to take on a leadership role in our home care facility. As the Lead Midwife, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the provision of exceptional maternity care services to expectant mothers within a home care setting. The ideal candidate must hold a valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license or eligibility, along with substantial experience in midwifery. This role requires a strong blend of clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep commitment to promoting maternal health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Maternal Care Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of midwives, providing guidance, mentorship, and clinical oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality maternal care services to clients in a home care environment.
- Clinical Expertise: Apply advanced midwifery skills to provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to expectant mothers, ensuring their safety, comfort, and emotional well-being.
- Care Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs and preferences of each client throughout their pregnancy journey.
- Family-Centered Care: Foster a supportive and empowering environment that promotes family involvement, informed decision-making, and positive birth experiences for both the mother and her support network.
- Education and Counseling: Educate expectant mothers and their families on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum care, offering guidance, support, and evidence-based information.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, documenting all aspects of care provided and ensuring compliance with DHA regulations and facility policies.
- Emergency Preparedness: Exhibit a high level of preparedness and responsiveness to emergencies during home births, taking prompt and appropriate actions to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.
- Continuous Quality Improvement: Drive ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the midwifery department, participating in audits, case reviews, and professional development activities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with DHA regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring the facility's adherence to all applicable guidelines.
- Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate seamless care transitions, multidisciplinary communication, and holistic patient care.
- Client Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and preferences of clients, promoting a woman-centered approach that respects cultural, religious, and individual choices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Midwifery or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Proven experience as a Registered Midwife, with experience in home births being highly desirable.
- Strong clinical skills and in-depth knowledge of antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care practices.
- Leadership experience or aptitude, with the ability to guide and support a team of midwives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a compassionate and supportive rapport with clients and their families.
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive health assessments and providing evidence-based care.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Emergency preparedness and critical thinking skills for managing unexpected situations during home births.
- Familiarity with home birth equipment, supplies, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic home care environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and staying updated with current midwifery practices.
