Our client is looking for a Cathlab Nurse to join their team in Papua New Guinea 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Certification: BLS AND ACLS
  • License: Nursing Council
  • Experience: 3 Years

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

  • Cath lab nurses start IVs and administer powerful cardiac and sedative medications. Their keen assessment skills are necessary for detecting subtle but important changes throughout the procedure.
  • Cath lab nurses operate advanced equipment and troubleshoot as needed. They help with imaging procedures and assist cardiologists with interventions.
  • Cath lab nurses communicate with patients, colleagues, and doctors during time- sensitive, intense, and often stressful situations. Cath lab nurses communicate clearly, calmly, and confidently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To Provide assessment, monitoring and intervention for cardiac procedures, such as coronary stents, Swan Ganz/right heart catheterization, balloon valvuloplasty, angioplasty and pericardiocentesis
  2. Administering oral and intravenous medication to patients
  3. Operating intra-aortic balloons, physiological recorders and printers for monitoring electrocardiogram data
  4. Managing patients under sedation to watch for adverse reactions
  5. Educating patients and their families regarding surgical site care, lifestyle, medications and other postoperative information
  6. Managing paperwork, including patient consent forms, charting, lab results and procedure documentation
  7. Collaborating with other medical staff as needed.
