Our client in Papua New Guinea is looking for an ICU Registrar to join their prestigious hospital 

Duties:-

Will report to the Head of the Department & Medical Director on medical issues, and to the CEO on administrative issues.
Provides consultation to the patient and to other physicians, when the problems fall into the field of Acute & Critical Care, OPD and Diabetic Clinics, both at 3 Mile hospital and satellite clinics, when assigned. This includes diagnosis and treatment if the patient's primary problem is in this field.
Primary care provider for all patients admitted at Intensive Care Units; and mediate with responsible consultants, when required.
Participate in consultant-led rounds and keep up-to-date notes of their recommendations & plans, and ascertain its execution.
Perform various specialized procedures specific to acute & Critical Care
(including and not limited to Vascular access, Intubation, ventilator support etc.). Prepare comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.
Conduct out-patient Clinics for follow-up & discharged clients (including but not limited to General Practices, Occupational health, return/fitness to work assessments etc.) or as required on the discretion of the Medical Director.
Maintain strict records of events, progress notes, and other medical, medico-legal records, including in EMR system
Provide off-site telemedicine services for satellite facilities where your specialty care is not available.
Participate in all group conferences requiring the viewpoint and opinions of this specialty regarding difficult medical cases. And collaborate with other departmental personnel in planning programs integrating the curative and preventive aspects of total patient care, including practices of perioperative medicine, advising patients' risk status and recommending appropriate intervention to minimize risk.
Assist HOD, in the development and ensure implementation of risk management policies, and clinical management protocols & guidelines for departments
Be available after hours and on weekends, to take calls any urgent or emergent consultation or procedure related to specialty.
Monitor work of other assigned staff to the department for quality, quantity, correctness, etc., demonstrating procedures or recommending additional training as required.

Participate & assist in development of Continued Medical Education program, train nursing & allied health staff, develop & implement relevant protocols for the medical division, provide department statistics, and plan & participate in quality control programs, as directed by & in consultation with the Medical Director.
Be available and accept teaching assignments for training staff at the request of the hospital management.
Follow the policies and protocols of the hospital, the standard of care as deemed appropriate by the institution.
Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements
Participate in business promotional activities, trade shows, seminars, health expos and talk shows on behalf of the hospital.
Conduct himself/herself professionally and in a manner becoming the institution at all times.
