Consultants With Energy, LLC has an upcoming need for another proven expert to support our project. If you're a talented DCS Engineer with extensive experience with Foxboro and GE Mark VI with combined cycle experience the ability to collaboratively work a project to completion, we would like to talk to you regarding this opportunity and others. We are being asked to resolve issues and the results will be evident every day, on every shift and affects safety, plant operations and of course revenues for our client. The results of your work matter to our client and your efforts are absolutely critical to our success. Those who know us, know that CWE resolves issues by leveraging the right individual for the need. Due to the nature of the role, this is not one which allows for learning on the job. The Subject Matter Expert (You), will be performing work that has instant and immediate impacts to the facility, good or bad. Only good is acceptable, which requires you to be an expert and highly talented and professional beyond just having this skill-set. Here is the basic outline of the role.
1) Provide technical expertise and support relating to the plant control system. (Foxboro) as well as (GE Turbine Control System) per request of the Plant Management. Foxboro is the focus but experience with the turbine controls and knowledge of how these systems work, or don't work together may provide solution.
2) Review Unit historical trend data, logic drawings and similar data for stable state operation, turbine generator startup, ramp rates, normal and abnormal load changes, trip logic and other areas of concern. Observation of how field devices are responding (control valves in particular) to determine if they're setup correctly or atypical. Verify critical instrumentation calibrations are not due or incorrect.
3) Review historian, and other data to determine current configuration and condition of distributed control system and turbine control system.
4) Assess and report of findings and provide report and collaborate with management to develop actionable recommendations and defer to facility management for determination of implementation.
5) Update system with approved changes relating to logic and alarm summary/priority assignment audits and to implement requested and approved changes to improve plant controls system interface.
6) Using procedures, Test, Test, Test to ensure that changes are per intent and no unexpected actions occur.
7) Verify that logic changes are fully documented in report form and provide final as-left drawings and control narrative. Provide copies to Plant Operations Manager and DCS Engineer.
8) Provide the necessary training to plant operations team as needed to ensure operational readiness with regards to updated logic.
Rate: ST: $65-$75/hour
California OT & DT rules apply
Per Diem: $125/day
