Position Title & Basic Details

Were looking for a Digital Plant Engineer based in Indiana. This is a contract position requiring 7+ years of relevant experience. A Bachelors degree in Engineering is strongly preferred.

Overview

In this role, youll be responsible for defining the manufacturing system and data architecture for a state-of-the-art multi-billion dollar manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in data strategy and automation within the pharmaceutical industry and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Connect business, technology, and data architectures for the assigned facility.
  • Represent automation in all digital plant discussions and forums.
  • Contribute to the development of the Digital Strategy for the project.
  • Support the creation of the projects Data Architecture.
  • Lead data flow mapping activities for the building.
  • Support delivery of site-level data infrastructure (e.g., Aveva PI, LogMate).
  • Contribute to the overall automation philosophy for the program.
  • Support development of Digital Plant use cases.
  • Communicate project status, issues, risks, and needs to the Automation Project Manager.
  • Provide technical consulting and support as part of the automation team.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet business needs.
  • Maintain compliance with all required training and GMP expectations.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in automation systems, with preferred experience in DeltaV Batch DCS, MES systems, and Aveva PI.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years working on data strategy or data architecture in API or bulk manufacturing within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering large automation projects in pharma.
  • Strong understanding of GMP regulations and computer system validation principles.
