BMS Engineering Lead

Position Title & Basic Details

Were looking for a BMS Engineering Lead based in New Jersey. This is a contract position requiring {35 years} of relevant experience. A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineer is strongly preferred.

Overview

In this role, youll be responsible for system design, integration architecture, vendor coordination, and hands-on engineering support for the Server Room Mini-Split Integration & BMS Upgrade project. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in Tridium Niagara-based Building Management Systems and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop systems for integrating mini-split AC into existing BMS.

- Assess existing BMS infrastructure, including Niagara version and JACE controllers.

- Develop technical design documents, I/O schedules, and BMS architecture diagrams.

- Define control logic and sequence of operations for mini-split activation on HVAC failure and temperature threshold-based control.

- Select integration strategies such as BACnet/Modbus or gateway solutions.

- Generate a bill of materials for sensors, gateways, and controllers.

- Coordinate with mechanical/electrical contractors on field device wiring and control panel modifications.

- Program Niagara station, configure new points, and deploy GUI enhancements.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during testing, deployment, and commissioning.

Requirements

- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Controls, Automation, or equivalent experience.

- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Tridium Niagara, BACnet, Modbus; familiarity with HVAC systems.

- Experience: Minimum {35 years} working on BMS integration projects.

- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Tridium Niagara-based systems.

- Certifications in BMS or related fields.

- Specific experience in server room environmental controls.
